Need a plumber right now?
Call the 24/7 line and describe the problem.
Call (385) 488-1892We keep this page short and factual because plumbing is a trust decision made under stress. Below is how the service works, how you can check any plumber yourself, and the limits we hold ourselves to.
How a call is handled
You describe the problem
The dispatcher asks what is leaking, backing up or not working and what you have shut off.
A plumber is assigned
The nearest available licensed plumber is sent, and you hear when to expect them.
You get a clear price
The plumber looks first and quotes the work before starting.
The repair is tested
Water is run, the fix is checked and you are told what was done.
Check any plumber’s licence yourself
Utah licenses plumbers in five classes: Apprentice, Journeyman, Residential Journeyman, Master and Residential Master. The state Division of Professional Licensing runs a public lookup at secure.utah.gov/llv/search/index.html where you can search by name or business before anyone starts work in your home. We encourage you to do this with every plumber you hire, including us.
What we will and will not do
- We give a clear price before work starts and explain what changes it.
- We pull permits when the work requires one, through the North Salt Lake Building Department or the city that covers your address.
- We will tell you when a problem is in the public sewer or water main and who to call, such as the South Davis Sewer District.
- We will not promise a fixed arrival time, because traffic and the nearest available plumber vary.
- We will not tell you a repair is DIY-safe when Utah rules or common sense say it is not.
- For a gas smell, we ask you to leave the building and call Enbridge Gas at 1-800-767-1689 or 911 first.
Why the line is built around emergencies
Pipes fail on nights, weekends and holidays as often as they fail on a weekday. A tank that splits at 2 a.m. or a main line that backs up on a Sunday cannot wait for an office to open, so the phone is answered 24/7 and the first job on every call is to make the situation safe. That means telling you where the main water valve is, what to switch off and what to leave alone.
Planned work gets the same attention. A water heater swap, a repipe or a new fixture is quoted before it starts, and the quote lists what is included so you can compare it with another bid.
What you can expect from the plumber at your door
The plumber looks at the problem before quoting it, explains what caused it and offers the repair that fits. If a cheaper stopgap exists, you hear about it, along with what it will not fix. If a permit is needed, we say so up front and file it. When the cause sits in a public line, you are told who to call instead of being sold a repair that will not help.
Local roots
Our office is on Redwood Road in North Salt Lake, and we work on the same homes our neighbors live in. The city’s first homes went up between about 1910 and 1960, and Foxboro was built between 2000 and 2010, so we see both older clay and cast iron lines and newer plastic ones. Knowing which era a street belongs to helps the plumber guess the cause faster and bring the right tools.
Questions to ask any plumber before work starts
- Is the quote written, and does it list what is included?
- Who pulls the permit if one is required?
- What happens if the problem turns out to be bigger than it looked?
- Can I see your Utah license number, and is it active?
Good plumbers answer these without hesitation. We answer them on every call.
When we are not the right call
Some problems belong to someone else. A water main break in the street is a job for the city’s public works crew, and a blocked public sewer main is a job for the sewer district. A gas smell goes to the gas utility first. We will point you to the right number even when it means we do not get the job, because a wrong call wastes time you do not have.
Where we work
Our office address is 215 N Redwood Rd, North Salt Lake, UT 84054, and we serve Woods Cross, Bountiful, West Bountiful and Centerville from the same line. You can read about each service before you call.
